Does it bother you when celebrities go to other countries and...?

help the poor people there. But they don't help the poor people in their own country. I mean like adopting kids in asia when there are so many unwanted children here, like helping the african children when there are hungry children a block away from their high priced TV/Movie studios, Like even helping animals and saving the trees in tropical rainforest, but will step over a homeless person on their way out of their limo's. Does this seem wrong to anyone else? I'm sorry, but people always say there are programs. Come one people, there aren't that many programs in ther US to help all the poor and suffering people. I think we need to step into reality and realize that it's hard or even sometimes impossible to enter certain programs and many have waiting list 100 miles long. jdnmsedsa... I have a tutoring program from my home for G.E.D, I also do some help with finding employment, I am in the process of creating a non-prfofit program to homeless women and children and battered children. I have a drug addicted foster child, plus my own child and I am a single parent. I have been working at a government agency for 10 years, but my job is a way of helping people in need. I have been homeless myself, I have been without food for days before and there is nothing worse then being looked over un your own country. I don't concern myself with animals and trees, when there are HUMAN LIVES at stake.

  1. I couldn't agree more. Help people in your own neighborhood first. .
  2. No, its their money and they can spend it how ever they wish. In America there are programs that help the needy, there aren't in many other countries.
  3. Many celebrities do help the poor in America. As for adopting children in Asian countries, or other countries for that matter, it may be easier than adopting in America. But you should also know that in many developing and third world nations, many orphaned or abandoned children are never adopted. If someone famous, or not famous (a woman I used to work with and her husband have adopted two daughters from China) adopts a child, it gives them an opportunities they would probably never realize in the home country. Now let me ask you what are YOU doing to help these children, homeless, animals, and the rain forest? Celebrity brings a certain amount of clout. While they might not be able to create policy or solve all of our problems, they might inspire something in all of us to do something to make the world a better place.
  4. No it doesn't bother me at all. If a person is doing a good deed why be bothered?
