If you make balloon animals with Helium instead of air, will the animals float?
Public Comments
- Yes. Helium is lighter than air.
- REAL ANIMALS? Probably not, the volume of helium required to lift an animal is more than can be held inside the animal at 1 ATM.
- I'd say yeah. If normal round balloons can float because there is helium inside, why not animals?
- yeah
- DUH
- Yes it will. In fact my favorite things to get at the circus when I was little was the floating poodle on a string.
- The balloon floats or not is based on the overall density. Helium has lower density than air. The total mass (helium + balloon) divided by the volume is lower than air, it floats. (mass of air + mass of balloon) / volume is higher than air itself, it doesn't float well.
- Float as in on water?? no!!!! it just flies away high above!!!! if you want it to float in air, then yeah its gonna float in air but u gotta attach it 2 a string else it will fly away. fill a baloon with only air and yeah it will float on water and NOT fly away.
