Why dont we bring back extinct animals/ animals that are aobut to get extinct?

- How exactly would you bring back an extinct animal. Even if you have the DNA what animal would carry the baby? But basically to answer your question it is very very hard and very very expensive.
- Well, if they are extinct, there are none left, so you can't bring them back. If they are endangered, we do take steps to help them, but it is very difficult. Humans can do some things to help - stop habitat destruction, or use of pesticides, or poaching, etc.
- Question 1: Why don't we bring back animals that have gone extinct? 1) Since they are extinct, there is no natural way for them to come back to life 2) I'm not sure if it has been tried, but there are many (a tremendous amount actually) limitations to trying to geneticaly manipulate animals extinct genetic material to try and produce a feasible zygote that could potentialy be born. These limitations include molecular techniques in itself, sources of genetic material, funding and proably the most controversial, ethics. Question 2: Why don't we bring back animals that are about to go extinct? We are trying, but it isn't as easy as you make it sound. Check - IUCN, WWF, WCS and many other NGOs that have set conservation priorities to sustain current extant species.
- The process of cloning endangered animals is just now being established but it is an aid to increasing numbers not an answer to stopping their loss. http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2001/02/41704 Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) was used by the group Advanced Cell Technology. Their researchers fused somatic cells of the gaur (Bos gaurus) with the enucleated (the genetic material is removed) eggs from a related domestic cow (Bos taurus) to help restore the gaur population. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0DED/is_3_21/ai_66520544 This technique may be useful to help restore populations of white rhinos, African bongo antelope, the Sumatran tiger, and the giant panda.
- Imagine how the modern world would be with a T-Rex cruisin around!
