If you could do anything to stop making animals extinct, what would you do? Would you do something little, would you do something HUGE to make sure that it never happens again, or would you not do anything at all and watch the poor innocint animals get killed for just being alive? I need to know because killing animals is just WRONG! Everyone needs to put an end to poaching! (I meant poaching as in hunting for animals, not as in poaching eggs...Just so you know!) All these exotic animals are being killed just because they look beautiful! To me, that makes no sense and poaching is cruel. Let me know what you think!

- stop destroying their habitat. Animals need fairly large buffers between them and large scale human habiations. If we develope with thoughts towards buffers and migration corridors perhaps we could slow down the decline of species.
- well said capt
- I would protest to stop hunting animals because what if we were down. Animals have feelings to. Become a vegetarian and a ecological activist it really helps. Try to recycle so you wont see sea animals die.Don't use Styrofoam cups or containers. If you have someone related to you and go watch him/her work, see all the meat and animals that are dead just laying there dead its depressing. Look at the cute cow in the farm...BOOM...it gets shoot and killed. It males me wunnuh cry. Try new things.
- Dont cut down the forests/rainforest and dont pollute the oceans.
- Do as much as I could to guarantee my own survival and the survival of other humans. Humans are animals.
- I agree with you but not to many people care or even have the time to because there trying to stay alive them self . If i could do one thing i would put you in charge of there safety
- Start a poacher poaching group. Go out in large groups hunting down all people that hunt and kill animals, especially the sick bastards that kill elephants and rhino's for their tusks and horns. When we catch the poachers we could pull out their teeth and skin em, see how they like it
- set aside huge areas of land and that would help
- Oh boy, you're going to really hate me. I hunt, fish, and trap. I have no desire to become a vegan. I love meat. I also work with local children to teach them about wildlife and wildlife conservation. As far as making animals extinct, there are some things you just can't control. Animals have been going extinct since were first created. It's just how it goes. We can't sit and cry every time and animal dies. We should stop encroaching on their space, I fully agree with that. Their habitat is constantly decreasing. Now, here's some questions I pose to you, blue. What do you do to stop habitat destruction? Do you try to enhance existing habitat for animals? Do you work with any goverment agencies to volunteer your time, monies, or effort? I do. I do it because I not only hunt the animals, but I respect them for what they are. I volunteer on local wildlife refuges and management areas. Do you know what happens when animal populations go unchecked? They have die offs. Those sweet little animals either eat thier habitat out of viable food sources or they have a disease that sets in on the group. I saw that this past trapping season. Racoons all across Louisiana got some sort of disease, possibly dimensia(yes, coons get it too). This renders them defensless against their predators. Until this past winter, populations of racoon had gotten extrememly high. Whatever the sickness was, it thinned them way, way down. It's mother nature at work. It's just the way it goes in the real world. Nature is great and real poaching should be stopped, but talking about it via the internet does nothing. You have to actually get your hands dirty and know what you're talking about. Have a nice day.
- Actively manage the wildlife resource to insure a stable, healthy population. This will provide a sustainable resource both for current and future generations.
- How to save in dangered species???? Answer: that is just about impossible ,and things are only getting worse Of the earth's estimated 10 million species, 300,000 have vanished in the past 50 years. each years, 3,000 to 30,000 species become extinct. A lot of human activity is speeding that up since we tend to overpower all the other species in one way or another. Some reasons why animals are being wiped out ,in the forrests are: The hunting of exotic species for the consumer market only about 10% of the animals caught survive The hunting of animals for food by settlers Forrest fires ,that have started because of slash and burning of forrest ,to clear the land for farming, had gotten out of control The loss of Habitat because the conditions have changed ,e.g less humidity because of surrounding farmlands ,or overpumping of rivers for human use(farming and utility) Because of contamination of the waters , Expanding populations and expanding farming ,that has to keep pace with the expanding populations are very strong forces that encroach upon the rainforest's clearing them for farming and settlement areas . In Mexico is a famous jungle that the Media has been trying to save for years the Naturists ,and the government ,keep watch .laws are made for protection the wild and to forbid logging. TV put out a series of documentaries there are campaigns in the News papers and all of this has not made the slightest difference Rainforest's always are in third world countries and always in third world countries corruption and the need for money s highest The jungle gets smaller by the day more and more farmers move in .and burn the trees It is an impossible situation as long as there is poverty in these regions the destruction will continue And the Animals will continue to be trapped ,as long as people keep buying the exotic animals CLIMATE CHANGE And now many animals are becoming sick because of changes in temperature , vital links in the food chains are disapearing affecting other species further along in the chain 90% of the feral (wild) bee population in the United States has died out. Recent studies in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands have shown that bee diversity is down 80 percent in the sites researched, and that "bee species are declining or have become extinct in Britain." The studies also revealed that the numbers of wildflowers that depend on pollination have dropped by 70 percent. If bees continue to die off so would the crops they support and with that would ensue major economic disruption and possibly famine. Bees are not the only polinators but if these things are happening to bees we can bet on it that other insects are also in trouble ,on top of this many people are spraying for mosquitos ,with drastic effects . So much follows the insects in the food chains ,that we can expect a lot of very bad changes in the environment . And now the quest for Ethanol that intends to replace Indigenous forests for mono culture plantations to produce wood for pulp, will wipe out all the inhabitants of those forests in the process the only thing that lives in these forests is plagues of insects that are controlled by pesticides. the trees are chemically grown with fertilizers, and heavily irigated with water needed for the surounding comunities. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjHWwGGffFFtirnd17BsN.nty6IX?qid=20070530195737AACbd5b&show=7#profile-info-fHbzOdoIaa It will be a sorry future for the Animals ,and we will be close behind. Everything is happening so fast it is not possible to monitor events any more
