how does logging in the rainforest affect the animals in it?

- The obvious answer is that you take away the homes of any tree dwelling creatures like squirrels and birds and insects. No home, they have to move on - they can't just decide to live on the ground. When you remove the trees, you lose the cover that many of the ground dwelling animals depend on like deer and bears. The scrub growth that replaces the trees is an ideal fuel for wildfire. Additionally, without the healthy tree roots holding onto the soil, erosion is much more prevalent and things like mud slides and rock slides become more frequent. And finally, you remove a huge source of clean breathable oxygen. Trees are our natural air filters and oxygen producers.
