Is it just me or do most of the pictures on animal experimentation?

are outdated and do not reflect the current state of animal research. I am against cruelty of animals, but these days with such awareness, I would think cruelty experiments are uncommon. Those using government funds for animal research follow rules to secure the funding. Over the years, I have notice the same pictures are used again and again. I would think they are most likely from a time when animal welfare was not on the minds of the average person.

  1. only labs that get government funding follow the iacuc guidelines, but labs that don't receive any government funding don't have to follow any rules, so they can do whatever they want. are most of the pictures outdated? yeah, they're outdated, but have conditions improved that much? not really. animals are abused, but in a more kinder, gentler way. for example, instead of using a 10 lb rod to smash a rat's head to test for brain damage, they might use a 5 lb. rod, but increase the number to experiments. the end result is still the same.
  2. Yes, they are outdated and re-used over and over....They target young kids because they haven't yet been exposed to the real truth, that most [not all] of the animal rights groups are all after the same thing, money. Even organizations like PETA have been exposed over and over for secretly killing dogs and cats in their "shelters" so they can make room for "more", because it means more money... BTW, I'm against "cruelty" towards anything living, including humans. Extremists are not.
  3. I am against pointless cruelty to animals, but medical research is a legitimate use of animals, whether the required experiments cause suffering to the animals or not. Better a hundred rats should suffer than a member of my family. Ever wonder why the pictures always show dogs or monkeys, when rats, mice and other rodents make up more than 90% of the animals used in research? Apparently PETA and other terrorist organizations are not interested in rodents' rights, just cute, cuddly animals. Cuteness apparently gives an animal "rights".
  4. It has not changed. Covance and Huntington Life Sciences still test on animals. Plus, tobacco companies. It is getting harder and harder to infiltrate these places. They are getting sneaker and they hide everything.
