dalmatian, german shepard, golden retriever, alaskan husky, or a yorkie?
okay, so i would love a big dog. loyal, trust worthy, loves his owner, but it might not be best fit. see, when i get a lisence, i am buying a 2005 chevrolet express cargo van, and making it a home: i will put in house carpet, put in a TV with a DVD player attached to it on the roof. i will put in a case for black and white movies, and a small connected-to-the-wall bed that flips.like the kind thats attached to the wall and you flip it down, instant bed. i am getting out of here as soon as possable. west of the mississippi, i have always wanted to go there. anywhere past it. so my parents cant get me. you see, my parents kinda hate me, they really do not want anything to do with me and almost put me up for adoption, but they couldnt because of various issues. but, they kept me and gave me clothes and a roof... yeah nothing else. so i have a job, i make plenty of money. for myself. i have to eat and everything too, ya know? so anyways thats how i am going to pay for the van and all that i want to do to it. and gas. one problem- i dont want to be lonely. i have always had a dog, but i havent for a long time. i want a medium sized dog that is loyal and will be able to do well in a car. but, since its a van that i will live in, would an aslaskan husky really work? or should i get a dog that will sit on my lap as i drive down the highway? or a "real dog?" even though it will barely fit? i think i would be able to make a customized passenger seat that a dog can sit in and look out the window, maybe even stick its head out the window. it could have like a little ramp so it can walk up, and just sit. and maybe make it long enough so it can lie down. i would be able to walk it, when ever i get to a coast, or some other outside dog-friendly area. i can walk a few miles, it would be good for me, too. also a great way to get some girls :) good conversation starter. as far as feeding the dog, i will be able to easily. i will just have to buy one of those fancy dog food and water despencers and just buy a lid for them and problem solved. learning to drive- well, yes i do need more experience behind the wheel. so, which is why i get my parents to buy me a truck, and i just learn with that. plus classrooms, of course. i have a feeling i will be a good driver, despite statistics. but i really doubt i will get into any major crashes. now onto the dog. i would like any of them, just, which should i get? of course i will pay for him/her to be neutered/spaded, vaccines, examanated, ect. but the van would be an extended wheelbase, so a bit bigger. and it would have real walls. and sound proof it, so when you take a step it doesnt echo. and all wheel drive, in case i go crazy and want to go into snow for some idiotic reason. so, now that you all know my future, which would be best? get him now, so i can raise him...i would prefer an alaskan husky, or a dalmatian. or, if i had to get a toy dog, a yorkie or a shih tzu. or some medium sized dog? you tell me. remember- if my dog cant go, i dont go. so, yeah my dog goes where i go. there are plenty of people who do this. especially pickers, semi drivers, ect. why would it be different for me? plus there are truck stops throughout america. they have showers, food stores, PET STORES, ect. plus shedding isnt really anything for me. i have no allergies. and they DO make vaccumes that are just little hand sized things. i clean cars for even more extra cash, im fine with cleaning.

- NONE. Dude...you're gonna be living in a damn car Do you REALLY think that would be a good life for a dog??? When you're working....where will the dog stay? CERTAINLY not at "home" in your car...right? It's just NOT a good idea
- Sorry, but I don't think that you should get a dog. What kind of dogs want to live in a van?! It needs more space and freedom to run around. I understand that you don't want to be lonely, but I don't think getting a dog to live with you in a van is the best choice. Get an apartment or something...??
- NONE. If you can't afford a house, or an apartment, then you shouldn't get a dog.
- I think you should get a German Shepard but why would you live in a car or the dog?
- How are you going to shower while living in a vehicle? How will you cook food in it? You can't live off fast food. What about how to wash your clothes? What about a toilet? If you get a dog, how will you vacuum up the dog hair? While you are at work, the dog will pee and poop all over the inside of the van and chew up everything it can reach. On top of that, it is illegal to leave a pet in a car or van or truck on a hot day. Your dog will die and you'll go to prison or juvenile hall, depending on your age, if you do it.
- I would say def a smaller dog. I don't know much about small dogs but I wouldn't recommend something big like a GSD or husky. Firstly they would take up too much room in your van and need more things to do than just go for walks, they are bred to work and would probably chew the crap out of anything bc they will get bored. Secondly the hair, they both shed a lot of long hair and getting that out of a car/van is not fun. Trust me I have 2 GSD and anytime they are in the van it is impossible to get all the hair out. I don't think it would be fair to a big dog to be kept in a van, or even a med sized one. Get a little one, then you will have unconditional love you can take anywhere. Good luck, and I'm sorry for they way you were neglected as a kid, this make make you a great dog owner bc you have so much to give, and need to receive love as well Edit- if you clean cars for a living and can successfully get dog hair completely out of the car, where do you live? I'll bring my van to you, I've tried the shop vac and car wash vacs- have never been able to get all of it out!!! The hand held car vac I have does a really crappy job as well!
- You definitely DO NOT NEED A DOG. You need to find friends. GO TO church on Sunday and you'll find friends your own age -- yes your age does go to church. To your YMCA and check out if they have co-ed dances, etc. Go to anywhere that have young adults. Also FIND an apartment before THINKING about getting a dog.
- I don't have a problem with you living in a car with a dog. I'm sure any dog would do and would like spending so much time with it's human. Some of the happiest dogs are dogs of homeless people. I think they like living out doors. I'm concerned about how things are for you now. I can't imagine not loving your child. I have 2 teenage sons, they may drive me nuts, but I love them. There are times when I have to be tough and they think I'm mean. I'm willing to be the mean Mom to keep them safe. But They also know I love them. I think you must feel very sad if you don't feel your parents love you. I'm also concerned that if you don't feel loved, showing love and feeling love for another living thing may be harder than you think. I hope you can seek out someone that can help you. Perhaps someone at school? As a teen It's hard to control what happens without adult help. I'm sorry I can't do more. More than anything I feel like you need a hug, and someone to tell you they love you.
