Why do dogs eyes change colors in pictures?

so i took pictures of my dog coco and in almost every one her eyes are a different color and i wondering why do they change in picture or in the light?

  2. For the exact same reason that people get "red eye" in photos. The eye has a light-reflective/light-sensitive membrane at the back called the retina. The retina grabs the light and bounces it back past light-detection cells (rods and cones) but some of it slips past. Under normal conditions, the pupil adjusts to only let in the amount of light needed to see clearly, but in special circumstances like flash photography or other sudden changes in lighting, the pupil can't dilate fast enough so more light gets in and then more light bounces back out, depending on which part of the retina it hits, it might reflect the reddish color of blood vessels, the bluish color of the retina, or any number of other tones.
  3. Animals that can see at night have a membrane in their eyes called a tapetum that reflects light. That is why their eyes shine with a camera flash.
