Little Puppy from china to austria possible?

Hey i often go to china during vacation with my mum to visit my family. they have the cutest dogs there. my grandparents have a 6 years old dog. and he is like the cutest dog i ever saw. i wished he would make some little puppies for me and today on my birthday my wish came true. 5 healthy baby dogs where born. i thought of bringing one of them back home. but the problem is we have to travel a whole day till austria. the airlines we are flying with is emirates. since i have no expirience in such things can you tell me how i bring a little puppy to austria? are they any rules? do i have to make him a passport? can he be in the passenger section? ( he weights under 6 kilo) does it cost much? please tell me what i have to do when i bring a puppy from china to austria i dont fly from china directly to austria first from china > dubai then dubai > austria flying with emirates btw

  1. You can't bring a puppy from China into any part of the EU, sorry. China is not on the list of acceptable non-EU countries in the relevant regulation. Edit: The pup is still from China no matter where the plane stops along the way. You could try importing a puppy from China into one of the acceptable countries listed in the European Norm. Generally those countries won't accept dogs until they have had their rabies shots (Four months old) plus another 30 days to run a rabies antibody titration test. Then, before it can be accepted into the EU, I believe it would have to stay in the third country for at least six more months. Your puppy would be close to a year old by the time it could legally enter Austria.
  2. Sorry not possible. If you like the dog please don“t try it because the puppys "journey" would definitely "end" on an Austrian (or any other EU countries) airport. Possible scenarios for the puppy: 6 month quarantine (you will get the bill for it)... This or they will euthanize the puppy.
