- The dodo didn't live in rainforests.
- First, the first answer was correct- the Dodo didn't live in the rainforest. Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean, was the only home of the Dodo. Unbelievably, about 30-100 different animals species, including insects, birds, mammals, and amphibians become extinct every single day! This is due to loss of habitat loss and invasion by humans. if you count how many animal species have died just within the last 10 years, it makes a list much to large to put down. One of the more recently Extinct animals was the Golden Toad. Also... Greater short-tailed bat Aukland Island Merganser Chatham Island Rail Dieffenbach's Rail Stewart Island Snipe Little Barrier Snipe New Zealand Quail North Island Takahe South Island Kokako Huia South Island Piopio North Island Piopio Laughing Owl I found this list here... http://extinctanimals.petermaas.nl/ There is a lot more to it though, go here to see it.
