Are bengal cats prohibited in New york city?

Hi, I have been wanting to get a bengal kitten but only just read that hybrid cats are prohibited in NYC. I wanted to know if this law is still in action since not a lot of information is available online. And has anyone living in NYC actually own a bengal cat? if so where did you get it from? Thank you.
