When could we take the Maltese puppies away from it mother?
ALSO could the [girl] puppy live with it fathers? To prevent future puppies should we neuter the father or the daughter.

- The puppies can be taken away once the puppies are on normal puppy food...also the father and daughter puppy can mate when it comes that time because that isnt inbreeding its line breeding so I would get one or the other fixed
- 8 weeks old
- puppies can be taken away from the mother at 8 weeks. and why not get both of them fixed?
- Oh god. Spay and neuter them all.
- Anytime after 7- 8 weeks, and yes - father and daughter will live together just as well (or not) as any other two dogs.
- At five weeks the puppies can technically live away from the mother but it's best to separate them at six weeks. And yes... you should neuter the father or the daughter. They can technically have puppies without coming out deformed... just make sure you don't have a son and a mother together. :) Their puppies will be deformed... but anyways, the father and the daughter will mate if you don't get one of them spayed or neutered. Hope this helps! :)
- Puppies should stay with their mother for 10 to 12 weeks. 6 to 8 weeks (what used to be the normal time) was found to be too soon. Pups need those extra weeks with their litter-mates for proper mental and emotional development. Both dogs should be fixed (you neuter males and spay females)
- Hello, puppies usually are weaned around 6 weeks but should not be taken away until 8 weeks. I think in some states it is actually illegal to sell or give a puppy away that is less than 8 weeks old. But if the puppies are staying in the same household and you just want to give the mother a break once they are eating dry food you can separate them from the mother at times to give her a break. If you are close with your dogs and will be able to tell when a female is in heat, and will be able to separate her from other dogs when she is, then you don't have to fix them. But if you have many dogs and cannot pay that close attention to them all then yes, they should be fixed. If daughter breeds with father the puppies may be deformed as that is too close of a relative. If you have the money and don't want any more puppies you should probably fix them, but you are the pet owner so it is your decision. :)
- Toy breeds should stay with the mother until at least ten weeks. If intact dogs are living together, the females need to be separated from the males during the heat. If you are not able to watch for the onset of each b****'s heat, then have her spayed.
- Um no the girl dog can't live with the father unless its neutered cause i went to some old dudes house on vacation and the father got his own daughther preg.plus not his fault he doesn't know he the father of the puppies why don't u just spay/neutered all of them!?!?!?!
- Smaller breed puppies should stay with their litters for a little longer than larger breeds. Most puppies are weaned and ready to leave their mothers at 8 weeks old. With small puppies like a Maltese I'd wait until 10 or even 12 weeks. Yes a female puppy could live with it's father. You should definitely get them both fixed.
- 12 weeks old for toy puppies. Both should be altered.
