Small, cross-bread puppy that does not shed?
Family of two teenagers and rambunctious 3 year old. Want a small puppy, will stay in the house so prefferably wont shed hair (E.g Poodles) Want a puppy simular to toy poodle, perhaps a simular cross breed? Not a fan of yapping dogs. I know it really depends on the puppy, but it can not bite. We will be able to train the puppy to not do this, but it really does need to be small and child friendly for 3yo.

- A Maltese/Poodle X....I own 2 of these x breeds and they are the best little dogs I've ever owned. There is a bit of maintenance ie; grooming (I am a groomer myself), but they are very good with kids If you have Facebook go to Panda Bear (Popsy) and you can see my black and white Malti-poo
- Goldendoodles are dander-free and good with children. They vary in size and are well-tempered.
- Cross bread? Bread is food for making sandwiches and toast, not dogs. If you want a cross BRED puppy, rescue one from a shelter or rescue group but be warned, if you get a puppy it will bite. All puppies bite until trained not to. You would be better with an older dog. Young puppies haven't yet learned to be child friendly. Also a boisterous 3yo child who is not used to dogs can be very rough and hurt a puppy. Small breed puppies have very tiny bones that are easily broken.
- Sorry small dogs are NOT for rambunctious 3 year old. Please be kind enough to wait until the child is older. All dogs shed to some extent, some less than others.
- If you don't like yapping and have a three year old then a little energetic dog is the last thing you need. Go for a larger, smooth haired breed - look at your local shelter for an older dog that will be over the nip stage.
- ALL dogs shed to some degree, even poodles shed ALL dogs produce dander as well.. dander is a combination of dead skin cells and dried body oils. ALL dogs have the potential to bite. ALL dogs will bark, the amount they bark depends on how much you train and exercize the dog.. and even them some individuals still bark simply because they can. Small dogs arent generally reccommended for young children.
- I have a bichon x Miniature jack russell cross. He is non shed, small and not yappy. Because hes crossed with a jack russel he is strong and hardy.
