How did my dog get his name, you think?

i have a retired racing greyhound, he raced in florida and mass. his racing name was "Hallo Ross B" but his real name is just Ross. I've never heard that name for a dog before, but we really liked it so we kept it. so how do the dogs at the track get named? and who names them? and why do you think they named him Ross?

  1. Ross B, the boy version of Rose Budd?
  2. I believe the old owner of Ross named him. Or maybe the racing company.
  3. some people just have off the wall names for their dogs. ive heard people call their dog ross before. some people name their dogs after states, after a family member, and many many more things. have you ever watched horse racing? the names for those horses are very weird and long, but they have just regular stable names at home.
  4. Maybe the name of the track was Ross. Sometimes they use their last names for their dogs. There could be many reasons. Must I say, it is lovely you have a retired greyhound... Ive always wanted to get one. Hope Ive Helped :)!
