I need to know if it is possible for my cocker spaniel to deliver pit bull puppies?
I do not have a vet and can't afford taking her to one but i do not want to lose her.

- It could go either way. If the puppies are large then she may not be able to deliver them. Get her fixed after she has the puppies one way or the other because her mating with larger dogs is definitely life threatening.
- she prob will if she is a good age and they would be ' pit spaniel' or a 'cocker bull'
- Umm no they are two different breeds.
- is the father a pit bull? if so, the puppies will be coker spaniel x pit bull... if the father isnt a pit bull, then obviously no. that would be like a human giving birth to a cat. but if its a cross breed cocker spaniel x pit bull, as far as giving birth goes it should be fine. and i thought this should have been obvious, but it clearly wasnt..? DO NOT BREED YOUR DOG IF YOU HAVNT DONE THE RESEARCH OR IF YOU CANT EVEN GO TO THE VET. if the pregnancy was 'accidental' get your dog(s) spayed/neutered after the puppies are weened.
- Well... Sad to say pitts do have bigger heads and you ma have to help her She Should live through it butonly go in if you see her having trouble you should take to her a vet really soon after or before the puppies are born just to be sure ( I seen you can not but youknow what i mean) A ton of vets have easy pay it off payment plans and low cost prices.
- there's no way to know for sure.. the puppies could very well end up being too large for her to deliver without a cecarian. spay and abort.. much cheaper than raising a litter of pups.
- I believe she can. they will be smaller then a pitbull because she is small. my sisters dog was maybe 15 pounds and got knocked up by a big rottweiler and she had the pups just fine all males came out small like her and all females came out big like him when then grew up. I think she will be fine I have never seen a pitbull cocker spaniel pup before hope you the best of luck. when she goes in labor make sure you watch her if you have money when she starts going into labor you can bring her to the vet they do delivers also but if you dont have the money its best to be there with her when she is having them. if one gets stuck it is best to help pull it out but be gentle I have done this before also if the baby is stuck head first I wouldnt pull it if I was you. is she dont stop bleeding after a couple hours bring her to the vet.
- Surrender the dog to a no-kill shelter. That is the best thing to do, so they can either get an emergency spay done/abort the litter and/or give the dog the proper veterinarian care it will need during the pregnancy and during/after whelping. The dog needs veterinarian care-if you cannot provide it the best thing to do would be to surrender the dog to your local no-kill shelter. The puppies would be mixed breed, the size would vary. It could carry/whelp the puppies without problems, or it could not. Don't risk it. What would you do if the dog needs an emergency c-section? Those generally cost up to $3,000.
- Your cocker cannot deliver pit bull puppies. She can potentially deliver pit bull x cocker puppies. You probably should consult a vet. A spay right now would be cheaper then raising puppies.
- Hmm, probably not. But that's what happens when you're a careless owner.
- Take the dog to the shelter, tell the vets there that you can't afford to take her anywhere else to be spayed. They will help you. You will keep your dog. problem solved.
- So, what do you expect anyone can do for her from here? You know she needs medical attention but you cannot provide it. If a fetus gets stuck then she will die. If you try to go in and pull it out then you will most likely rupture something in your dog and she will die. Since you did not provide her a safe home she is in this situation. You may want to think about giving her up to a rescue that can give her the medical care she needs and place her in a safe home.
- If she is pregnant by a larger dog there is a high risk that the puppies will be too large for vaginal delivery. A caesarian section costs MANY times what an emergency spay costs. If she does deliver without intervention, is it expensive and a lot of work to raise a litter. Your most economical option - not to mention the safest and most responsible one - is the emergency spay. Sell your computer to pay for it if you can't come up with the funds another way.
- How do you not have a vet?? Call your local animal shelter and explain that you need an emergency spay and you don't have the money for a vet. They will help you get your dog spayed so this never happens again.
