Cross Breeds

my friend is getting on my nerves about breeding our dogs.. help?

She's all like "Omg, you have a male yorkie, My chihuahua will make cute dogs.." I dont believe in breeding, she says "my little chihuahua is so cute, and your yorkie is so cute.. imagine the babies" I want to say ' No, Breeding causes homeless dogs, its just wrong. all the animals in the animal shelters have no homes, thats why they are there, if we breed a litter of about 4 or 5 then they might end up there too, even no kill shelters run out of room, loving dogs, being abandoned by heartless people.. its just wrong and so rude. Leaving people in shelters with the ability to just kill a friend .. its so bad.' when ever I tell her no she says "Well if we sell them to people we trust that wont abandon them, its a win-win situation" NO ITS NOT. We both volunteer at an animal shelter, she dosent see the pain in the dogs eyes like i do, Even though, i did buy my dog from a breeder, i still help dogs and thier people make good decisions. I have to admit, little puppies (yorkie-wawa's) are REALLY cute, I dont want to be the one over populationg the world..

  1. tell em go take flying jump yoooooooooooo
  2. tell her that your dog is fixed.
  3. You wouldn't pimp out your friend or relative so don't do it to your dog. If you don't want your dog to breed with your friends dog then say No and that that's the subject closed. If she wants to so bad then let her go find another stud dog.
  4. get your male fixed then you won't have to worry about it if he is 8 weeks and over 2 pounds he can be fixed
  5. its ur dog :O she cant force you and you should just tell her that you refuse to.
  6. Simple answer. Tell her NO, and get your male castrated, beyond the fact you will be helping to stop the over-population of dogs, it can also stop health problems later on - Cancer, for example. Given your passion about not breeding dogs, I would hope this came to you as your first and the best solution for everybody. I must say, it is very refreshing to see someone that is like-minded about this situation.
  7. I would tell her exactly what you have written, I totally agree with you, there are far more dog's being bred than are actually being homed, pedigree's and xbreds, rescue shelters and dogs homes are pretty much full(mainly staffies) but don't get me started on that one!! why not get both the dog's neutered and that will be the end of thestory, good luck
