Are dogs and cats allowed to mate together?

My dog && cat are humping the fuck out.

2. No. They have no instincts for inter-species intercourse and due to physical and chromosomal differences, the mating could not be completed nor offspring result. The humping behavior you are noticing is a dominance thing and not sexual in nature, the dog is telling the cat that it is boss. If you have a decently trained dog that respects your leadership, you can stop this behavior with a "leave it" or "no" when it occurs and your dog will soon learn that it is unacceptable. None of my dogs are allowed to hump because I find it distasteful, they know this and respect my rules because they respect me.
