I have 2 types of cats and i don't know what breed they are can anyone help?
The first cat is a black cat with white paws jaw and under belly t that connects to a white chest. she is lazy and not very adaptive to other animals that come into the house. she doesn't like to be held but she does like to play and she is about 5 years old with yellowish green eyes. the Other cat i have is a kitten who is about 11 weeks old she has tabby markings in grey and a darker grey. she also has white paws and white under belly that also connects to her chest. like any other kitten she is extremely curious and hyper, she is always jumping on my other cats and running around like a crazy person. She is pretty neutral about my dog she doesn't attack her but the dog doesn't attack the cat. She will however play with a dog who does play with her back. She has brown eyes with a hint of green around her pupil. I will have some pictures uploads of both cats so hopefully someone can tell me what kind of cat i have, any input would be great thanks! go here to look at the multiple pictures of both cats! http://www.flickr.com/photos/64480415@N06/

- Both are DSH cats, meaning domestic short hair cats, which means they have many different parents in their backgrounds. Emily is a DSH, brown tabby and white. Why brown, when you see gray? Look at the nose area. Brown. And you will probably find other areas of brown fur coloration under the gray, often by the tail. Tabby is a fur pattern of stripes. Isis is a DSH, tuxedo. Again simply a color pattern, and tuxedo means black and white. A perfect white chest that runs the length of her underbelly.
- they both look like domestic short hair cat, emily looks like a tabby and isis looks like a tuxedo
- To be recognised as a specific breed your cats would have to have a known pedigree. Judging by appearance isn't reliable. If you could ask the people you got your cats from perhaps they would know. They sound delightful, however! Even if they are moggies like my girl they can be gorgeous animals. Good luck finding out more about your cats.
- they are both american short-hairs. this breed is the most common and easily befriended. they could also be a mixed breed, but i'm 99.9% sure they're american short-hairs. i also like that the silver one is Emily: that's my name! :D

- Over ninety percent of cats are what they call domestic short hairs (DSH), domestic medium hairs (DMH) or domestic long hairs (DLH). These are just general categories because cats weren't intentionally bred (to create breeds) to the extent that dogs were. These means for most of their history they bred randomly. People only started creating breeds in the last hundred years or so, and today for the most part they still breed randomly. In other words, you cats are probably mutts - unless they came from a breeder. But there is nothing wrong with mutts!
- Aww both are very cute domestic shorthairs. No particular breed. The one is a black bicolor (black &white) as the correct color term. The kitten is a very cute little blue mackerel tabby & white. To Cat Lover - you are wrong on the color - its a blue tabby - not brown tabby - there is no brown by the nose. That is the correct color of a blue tabby. I owned one, so I do know (and I show cats). The black and white is a BICOLOR - no such thing as a "tuxedo" cat - its not the proper color term to be using.
- take them to doctor to identify it..
