How old can chihuahua puppies are able to leave their mother?
So my brother's chuhuahua Jellybean had 3 beautiful puppies on May 13, now almost 3-months old, one of my dad's friends is intrested in one of them. We would love to keep them, but our neighborhood is one-dog-per-family. So when are they old enough to survive without their mother.

- for toy dogs 12 weeks. So, now.....
- Not before they are at least 8 weeks old. If almost 3 months old, they should do fine as long as they are weaned and eating.
- 10 weeks old since they're such small puppies. Please get the mom spayed after this. Chihuahuas are probably the most overbred dog ever, we never have a shortage of them where I am.
- They should be fine at three months, we adopted both our puppies at three months old.
- They can "survive" without mom at 4-5 weeks. Chihuahuas should never be released from the litter until 12-14 weeks. Your parents need to step in and get this poor dog fixed. Just what the world needs, more badly bred Chihuahuas clogging up the shelters. Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes are the fastest growing breed in shelters around here.
- My puppy is part chihuahua and she was weaned at 6 or 7 weeks. (Then abandoned on a freeway off ramp. Gotta love dumbasses who don't give a damn if the dog dies.) So I'd say they're plenty old enough to leave their mother.
- 8 weeks, they can go to new forever homes now.Make sure you sell them! You only have 3,your job is to make sure they go to good homes!!
- 2 months. i got my chihuahuas when they were 2 months old.
- In the state i I live it against the law to sell before 8 wks. I prefer to get pups that at least 10 or 11 wks. they learn so much from the mom & they seem to do much better.
- May 13th was just six weeks ago. Did you mean April 13th? That was ten weeks ago. The toy breeds should not be rehomed until 11 to 12 weeks old. Their small size makes them more fragile as puppies, something they usually make up for in adult attitude.
- OK- how is it that you have bred your dog and you don't know this already?? 12 weeks for toy breeds. They should be fully weaned by 8 weeks of age and had two rounds of vaccinations. The puppy buyer does the third. I'd get "jellybean" spayed if I were you.
