What is the correct way to make balloon animals?

I pinch it with my thumb and fore finger then twist it three or four times. It continues to come undone. What am I doing wrong?

7. It will always come undone if you let it go. You have to lock it in place with another twist. Its hard to explain. I would have to show you.
