- 2 meals a day.
- Orijen and Blue Baffalo :P
- My grandma puts Rice in milk and gave it to my dog. She really liked it -.-''. http://www.the-puppy-dog-place.com/how-often-to-feed-7-month-old-pup.html
- Do some research on 'best dog food' or 'best puppy food'...I did a lot of research before I decided what to feed my puppy, and I've changed her food twice in 3 months (for better quality products)...I don't know that what I feed would be available to you though, since I'm in the US... If you are feeding dry kibble, you want meat as a primary ingredient in the food (usually listed several times) and not grain, corn, soy, etc (filler)...also avoid "by products"...some of the websites with info will tell you what to look for and what to avoid... As for how much, the dog food containers usually give a guideline based on age or weight...or you can free-feed (which is what I do)...my puppy always has food available unless she cleans her bowl right before bedtime (I don't give her more food right before bedtime, but if there is still food in her bowl at that time I leave it for her and she generally eats it some time during the night)...
- 2 meals a day, look for a food that doesn't have any animal (by-products heck it could be anything when they say that, anything from genitals to eyeballs and everything inbetween) also NO GRAINS in the food, dogs were meant to eat meat and some vegetables and starches NOT GRAINS. A good food to get is "Taste of the Wild" it is expensive though but if your puppy means a lot (plus mine is going to be a trained guard dog and may save my life some day) it is worth it. Any other food will do as long as it follows the NO GRAIN, and NO ANIMAL BYPRODUCTS
- If it won't eat dry food, chances are, less than you are feeding it now. Many dogs will wolf down more than is good for them and look for more. Others refuse to eat more than than they need. Evaluate the dog as illustrated in this link, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx You may want the vet to confirm your judgment. Adjust the dogs food and exercise as needed to reach its ideal body condition. Some German Shepherds and other breeds may refuse to eat enough to completely hid their ribs. As long as you are feeding a concentrated, meat based chow, the best thing is to accept it. The worst thing you can do is to bribe a dog with rich foods into eating more than it needs. Instead, Put down the dish with what the dog should eat, and give it 15 minutes to eat. Then take it up. Do not give it anything to eat until its next scheduled meal. In a few days, it should be eating what it needs. Continue to check its ribs and adjust the food as needed. This is not easy. I had a Shepherd go 3 days on a few nibbles. I was a wreck, but she was fine. It is almost unknown for a healthy dog not to eat what it needs. Unfortunately, in too many cases, it is less than the package says, and less than the owner thinks the dog should have. Many dogs are quite good at holding out for tastier chow. Like kids, sometimes it calls for tough love. As for what, most of the all life stages foods would be fine. Watch the calcium level. the actual, not the minimum on the bag needs to be less than 1.5% for larger breeds. Other than that, it makes little difference what you feed. Canine nutrition is well know and it is very easy for a trained nutritionist with all the data available, to formulate a complete and balanced food from a variety of ingredients. Most dogs will thrive on most foods. No one food is right for all dogs. In general, if a dog is doing well on a food, you are best sticking to it. If you are still feeding a puppy chow, I would switch to a similar, the same brand if possible, ALS food.
- 2 meals a day 400 grams tesco brand puppy food every two weeks i give my dog an egg yoke
