My cat needs to go to a good owner.?
Do you have any good suggestions for a good owner my cat could go to. She is a full-grown 14 year old main-coon. She has some blatter problems and do you know of any places in Fort Worth Texas that I can take her to that won't kill her.

- search for a no kill shelter in your area or ask your vet if he knows someone who could take your cat. If it's just that she can't keep her pee until she reached the litter box, you may offer her several extra litter boxes you can place in your home. This will keep the distances short and may solve the problem and you can keep her. If she suffers from bladder crystals - you may purchase a pet fountain - this will attract the cat to drink more liquid which equals in more pee. And the more a cat pees the less chances for crystals or even stones. Hope that helps.
- OH NOES!!! I adore Maine Coons, and love girls even more, I would take her if i lived near you. Try contacting youre local shelter or aspca and see if they have the number of a no kill shelter, or someone that takes special needs cats. I know there are some organizations devoted to entirely this, place an add on craigslist and pennysaver. Also try searching for an organization on petfinder.com, or even putting her up on petfinder.. hope I helped!!
- you could put an ad in the newspaper and look for a good home. that way she isnt shut in a cage for so long. because older cats take longer to get adopted sometimes. kittens are more appealing to a lot of people. you can try to look for a shelter. maybe the spca or something. but sometimes they wont take them!
- Ask on Craigslist. This will help keep your search more local. You can also use Petfinder. On this site you can specify that she is a special needs kitty. You can also talk to a no-kill shelter. Here is a list of Texas no-kill shelters: http://www.dogpack.com/directory/txnokill.htm Most no-kill shelters are asked for help a lot, so you best bet is to be persistent and offer to work with them. If you offer to volunteer they are more likely to help you with re homing your cat. Post signs around town. The best way to know she is going to a good home is by meeting the person wanting to adopt before hand. Ask about their experience with special needs animals.
- Just keep her. She is your cat. You have to be resposible. Anybody that gets her might not treat her well, or she may be killed at a shelter even if they tell you they won't kill her. She may live in a small cage for the rest of her days. That is not fair to her. She is a good cat. Keep her.
- If you got a true Maine Coon it would have come from a breeder with papers. You can look up you papers and call the breeder and talk to them on what to do. R P CAT Why do you have to get rid of her? That is a part you left out.
