What types of dogs are similar to Australian Shepherds in Temperament & Intelligence?

I live with someone who has an Aussie, and he is the absolute perfect dog for me- he's athletic, very affectionate and a little dependent but still gets on his own fine, he is bright, intelligent and learns quickly, he's very playful, he gets along great with other dogs, plus he is very handsome and beautiful and adorable :)

2. Border Collie Blue Heeler Australian Cattle Dog Belgian Malinois ...many of the dogs in the "Herding Group" according to the AKC are very much like the Aussie. ...all are intelligent, extremely energetic, need a job to do, and easy to train.
3. Border Collies are smarter, they require way more mental stimulation since, but they are the closest to Aussies... I have an Aussie, well my father does, and she is smart, be she was never worked so she gets bored, and she is very tricky, she gets into things when she knows we are not home :P
