Movie with kids, a dog, and a sled dog race...? (Looking for the title)?

I watched a movie at school about ten years ago or so, and I kinda want to see it again but I have no idea what it was called! This is what I remember about it: It was about two(?) kids who wanted to win some sort of sled dog race (I can't remember why), so they trained their old white(?) dog to run it. At the end of the race, shortly before the finish line, the dog died of a heart attack or something. The kids ended up carrying the deceased dog the rest of the way across the finish line. That's about all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated! =) IT WASN'T 8 BELOW OR SLED DOGS. It was ONE DOG, NOT a whole team. And the sled master(s) were CHILDREN.
