Can boxer dogs live in an "inside outside area"?

I am thinking about getting a boxer dog, and have heard that they are supposed to be inside dogs, but could they live outside inside a building? Such as a doghouse? Or like an unattached garage? I used to have guinea pigs inside the garage. Inside the garage, it is a lot cooler than the outside temperature and plus, between the house and the garage there is a walkway, so i dont think it being outside would be to much of a problem.

1. sure they can, they just always need to have food and water and shelter available
2. They can, any dog can if they have to. However, dogs are companion animals and need to be with their family. A dog kept outside has little or no bond with their owners, end up with next to no training, and definitely not enough interaction with people. Boxers, also need protection from the weather - both heat and cold.
3. NO dog should live completely outside. They are pack animals, and their instinct is to be where the rest of their "pack" is. It's one thing for a dog to be outside when you are not home, but why get a dog if they are never going to be inside? That's just cruel. As for the daytime, the garage idea is fine. As long as the dog has shelter, food, and water it will be fine.

5. Not really - Boxers are ok in warmer weather but they don't have or develop a thick winter coat. So they would need to be in a more heated house in the cooler/winter months. Besides dogs are pack animals and IMO its wrong to have a dog and not have it in the house at least most of the time with you and your family.
6. Absolutely not Boxers are a brachycephalic breed, shortened muzzles and airways. Boxers do not do well in temperatures over 72 degrees as they over heat and can die, temperatures under 68 degrees and they are too cold .. IN both instances they have difficulty breathing and of course with a short coat they have nothing to keep them warm. Boxers definitely are not outside dogs. They should be kept in the house with heat and air conditioning or they should simply be left with the breeder.
