- Please don't breed your dog unless you are a certified and experienced breeder, especially pitbulls because many of them will most likely end up in the wrong hands or at a shelter.
- You don't breed without knowing what you are doing and you certainly don't breed just to get a specific mix of colors. Find a new hobby.
- so buy one. genetics are tricky even for experienced breeders. leave the breeding to them and purchase a pup instead of trying to "make" one.
- You breed your purple nose with your yellow nose ;) it makes a brown nose :O BUT being serious DON'T breed you have no idea what your doing because you have to come on YA for advice. LEAVE the breeding to people who breed to better the breed not what your doing.
- If you call your dogs "pit bulls" you shouldn't be breeding, period. Backyard breeder alert!!! Breeding for colors and money, ruining the breed once again.
- Chocolate and the spotted genes are both recessive traits, so in order too get a chocolate and white both parents must be chocolate or carry the chocolate gene(impossible too see only way you can guarantee is that the dogs sire or dam had to be chocolate). Same with the spotting gene. Every recessive gene can be carried many many generations. If one parent does not have chocolate at all then you can never get chocolate from that dog. So unless you know the genetic back ground of your dogs, several generations, know it is a clean line(no genetic history of any illness) and you have a waiting list for puppies then have fun. If not why not wait for a chocolate litter too be born and get your puppy :)
- I don't have a problem with back yard breeders per se. The ones I have dealt with have typically given me the best dogs. Kindly and gently raised and bred. The few dogs I've had or dealt with from kennel or so-called "professional" breeders were no better and higher priced, but often harder to socialize. But real dog owners don't choose based on color. They choose based on BREED. So I have to answer with everyone else here. Please stop breeding. Because what's too likely to happen here is that your puppies are going to go to the wrong hands.
- Dog genetics don't work that way. That king of selection is only possible in snakes and lizards.
- Unless you know genetics its unwise to experiment. Color is the least thing that is important. Why not just search for a reputable breeder and find a puppy the is chocolate & white.
