Will male bengal cats spray even if they are neutered. what gender should I choose?
I recently put a deposit down on a bengal kitten for my active family and i don't know if i pick a male if it will continually spray my house. I also have a female domestic house cat. what would be the best combination for my family? male and a female or two females ?

- The female you have is more likely to get along with a male cat, but cats are not generally in favor of new cats introduced to their households so you want to do that very slowly. Any cat will spray or use the bathroom outside the cat box when stressed. For two cats, you need a minimum of 3 litterboxes scattered through the house, and at least two water bowls and food bowls in different rooms. Introduce the cats slowly. Start out by keeping the new one in a bedroom or bathroom for a few days and just let them smell each other under the door, then put the first cat up in a bedroom for a couple hours and let the new cat out to explore.
- From experience ive come to learn that female cats generally don't get along unless they have grown up together. When I had a male cat I got him fixed and he never sprayed the house and when i brought a female cat into the house the only problem was that the male followed the female everywhere because he was practically in love with her haha. But i think it just depends on what your female can tolerate and what you and your family prefer.
- no get a male. they are much more affectionate.
- No - kittens are neutered at 3-4 months old just before the breeder releases them. I did answer your other question regarding the male/female issue - read my aswer to that one too.
- I got a male bengal cross from the shelter. He's very aggressive toward my female. Very bossy. He is good though and I love him, but he attacked my female so much that she ended up living under the couch. I had to separate them for 6 months with a door between my first and second floor and rotate the cats. The stress has caused my female to start spraying -- and YES female cats do spray. AND YES they are both fixed. So...it all depends on the personality mix whether the cats will spray. I really thought if anyone did it, it would be the male, but he's a great cat. I have always had females and they got along fine.
