Do yorkie puppies do well with other animals such as cats?

I want to adopt an adorable yorkie puppy that i have wanted my whole life but my next door neighbors adopted this stray cat that followed me home one day and im in love with this cat but it is a wild cat that hunts to protect its child. Would a new yorkie do well with this cat or should i keep the yorkie away from the cat? I have read in some places that yorkies can be trained to like cats is that true?
