Make my mustang faster (srs)?

I've got an 04 GT with a few mods Headers, high flow cats, straight pipes, corsa tips cold air intake, electric supercharger diablo sport tuner 4.10 rear end with locker i go out racing last night the only thing i could beat was a few other mustangs, everything with a small block chevy or mopar raped me. my friends keep telling me to get a ls1 car like a camaro or corvette but i love my blue oval. what can i do without breaking the bank to get a leg up on these guys i got beat by a 99% stock 98 camaro with only a EGR block off and axle back exhaust from a 30 roll before anyone laughs about the electic supercharger i bought it originally as a gag.. then on a dyno day we messed around with it.. we ran the vehicle with a baseline of 310hp to the rear wheels, if we removed the intake tube from throttle body it made 318hp to the rear wheels, adding the e-charger without it being on and with the filter it made 308hp to the rear wheels, turning the echarger on it made 321hp to the rear wheels, doing the same but removing everything infront of it we made 325hp to the rear wheels.. so a successful gain of 11hp to the rear wheels.. so it's not like it adds boost it just helps clear the flow of air after the filter.. i've since removed to toggle switch and it runs whever the car is on.. i've driven from atlanta to dallas fort worth with it on the whole way no problems at all

  1. go with the sct tune from American muscle. get a custom tune. u tell them everything you got already and they have the tune work with it. my buddy has a 06 mustang with just exhaust intake and the custom tune and picked up 30hp on the dyno. i own a ls1 and there pretty quick. i like mustangs to but with my camaro i get complements all the time. much more then a every day mustang would
  2. take some weight off of it. mustangs are so heavy and thats probably why you are losing.
  3. If you do in fact have over 300hp in a 2004 GT then the other guys you're racing most likely have mods done to their cars too unless they're all newer Challengers and Camaros which come stock with more hp than you have. The 4.10 gears may help or hurt you depending on how well your car hooks up. If you're getting tire spin, which I bet you are with gears that low, then those gears are causing you to lose traction and make your car slower. Try 3.90 or 3.73 gears. The more power you make is when the higher gears start to make sense since you get less wheel spin than you do with low gears like 4.10s. Also, get wider tires for your rear rims. You don't have to go crazy with the width but if you have the stock 245/45-17 tires then go with 275/40-17 tires. This will give you an extra 1.2" in width and they'd be almost the exact same sidewall height and diameter as the 245s. You'd need at least a 9" rim to do it(stock 8" rims won't cut it) but you'd pick up some good traction that way. If you try to put those 275s on an 8" rim it might make you lose traction compared to the 245s since it'll bulge out in the middle on an 8" rim. An aftermarket intake plenum would be a good way to pick up some hp. You can buy the upper and/or lower plenums. Trick Flow makes some nice ones-they're called Track Heat. A better throttle body would give a few hp as well. Underdrive pulleys will free up a few hp. A computer tune will be a great idea too since it will maximize the power coming from all the add ons you have.
  4. Street racing I take it? Racing from a dig. Thanks for helping keep my insurance rates up. It's "kids" like yourself racing on the streets (don't care if it's a long straightaway in the countryside) that get cops after guys like us that just want to take our musclecars out for a cruise and a lot of cops looking for any reason to pull us over. Take your go-cart to the track and quit street racing. Until then nobody should be helping you get faster.
