How does the setting of a story(cold icy alaskan) affect its main character(a man training his snow dogs for a race that gets wounded when he falls in an ice gully)??? THANK YOU!!

  2. Well, in a different setting, then he wouldn't be training (or have fallen in to the gully), and he was probably more relaxed and happy in this setting because he was there, and having fun training his snow dogs. btw, is this the gary paulsen story "the dogs could teach me"?
  3. It's cold, he's by himself, conditions are dangerous, freezing is a possibility. Ask yourself, how would this story be different if the main character was stuck on the beach or in the city? :P
  4. if you mean crossing the gates of alaska the setting creates suspense and also makes the journey back home harder and gives the reader an idea about the mans will/struggle to survive
