Good breeders put a lot more money than that into making sure their dogs are good specimens of the breed, and they only recover some of what they spend with the sale of puppies. If you want a cheap dog, petfinder.com is the place to look. Rescue one and save a life. There are many Maltese up for adoption that will die since no one wants a 2 or 3 year old dog. They only want puppies, so the young adults in shelters and pound are sentenced to die.

4. I live in St. Paul MN. Where have you been looking, pet stores? That is the last place to get a puppy and the 2nd to last is from a bad breeder who is breeding for money! Go to petfinder...they have MANY dogs and puppies near you! You can also go to your local shelter. Please rescue a dog, rather than getting one from a pet store or byb!
