I think the people i got my dog from lied about her breed?
I got her when she was 9 weeks and now she's about 4 months... i looked on petfinder and found this very small rescue place and i thought this dog was really cute so i called the number and asked if i can come look at the dog...she told me to come to her house. when i got there she had a black lab that was her own dog, she took it outside and she had like 4 pitbulls and she took those out too. and she brought the puppies inside (they were kept outside i guess) She told me the puppies were a chiuahua and terrier mix. she looked and still does not look like anything like a chiuahua but i didn't say anything at the time, i don't know why. everywhere i take my dog, they ask me what she's mixed with besides lab...and i tell them she's chiuahua and terrier, they look at me like im crazy! so i stopped telling people that cause i sound stupid lol. EVERYONE thinks shes half lab...but we don't know what else she is. i was thinking maybe the lady is just breeding her own dogs! (the black lab and pitbulls i saw at her house) could she be half lab and half pitbull? here are some pictures of her. shes 4 months. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=20l79g&s=7 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=e8vaqo&s=7 so i have no idea what my dog is! id really appreciate if if you could give me some help! also, i'm confused of why this lady lied to me?? it doesn't seem like she's rescuing any dogs it just seems like she's breeding them and selling them. My dog is smart and learns fast but i've noticed she's also more on the aggressive side. she's defintly not shy, shes not scared of anything or anyone. she kinda has a bad temper sometimes! but i love her shes very smart and loving

- ask the woman she will know
- She does look like she has terrier in her, but a LOT of lab too. I don't see any Chihuahua or pittie though.
- She is extremely cute! But no there is no chihuahua in that dog. She looks to be a lab/terrier cross which could explain her temper issues since terriers are feisty little devils. lol But enjoy her n seems as if she came to a good home with you.
- How much she weighs should be a good indication of what breed(s) she is. A Lab/Pit Bull would be a lot larger then a Chihuahua/Terrier.
- I see terrier of some sort in there, possibly some Lab - certainly no Chi. But provided you didn't pay anywhere near breed, or first cross prices, I'd not stress - and don't listen to what other people say. You could try phoning her and say what you've said here - that you are confused about what your puppy actually is, but at the end of the day, does it really matter?
- DEF has some lab in her. I think she could be either lab/terrier or lab/pitbull, but NOT chihuaua, no wayyy.
- You have a very cute little doggy there. I'd say 70% Lab and 30% terrier. (Has something of the look of a Patterdale Terrier in there though). This is one of the problems of buying from 'back yard breeders'. They can be disingenuous and their stock may be suspect and often with long-term health issues. But I'd say there is enough of a random mix in there for your puppy to work out OK. Maybe when people ask you what she is you can say something like. "Isn't she cute, we reckon she's a 'Labster'. Here's hoping she has a long and happy life with you.
- I have 5 personal Chihuahuas and I also foster Chihuahuas for my city shelter and a Chi rescue org and I can tell you this dog has no Chi whatsoever. I've also had a Cairn terrier, and this dog has no Terrier characteristics. She does appear to be part Lab...mixed with ?? I agree with you, it sounds like she hides her breeding and selling puppies under the disguise of a Shelter. No wonder it was small. Try going to www.AKC.org and look at Chihuahuas and Terriers and Labs for yourself. Then look at all the other breeds. It's too bad they took advantage of your ignorance about dog breeds. I don't mean that in a mean way, but you obviously had no idea what a Chi or Terrier looks like.
- Lab cross with terrier guess. Depends on size of the dog. At 6 months they are basically full grown physically. Does it really matter? The cross breeding kills the agressivness in dog ( you still have to train them not to be so. Dogs do not have tempers. That is a human feeling. If you love it, that is all that really matters.
- yeah the lady is more than likely lying about the breed.
- The lady diffidently lied to you!! There is not a chance that dog has chi in it!! She looks a lot like a lab mix though. She doesn't look like much of a pit either (a pit just moved in next to me, nothing against pits they just have a bad rap and they can be great dogs). But some terrier in her. Try taking her to a lab or terrier breeder and ask them since they know the breed well, or even the vet. She is very cute though!!!
- Well probably some lab - but the ear SET is not a lab Ear Set (set means where the ears come out of the head at the base) Terrier leaves a wide range of possiblities included large small and in between sizes. Ear Set looks more Terrier like. Head shape does not look pit either. I would go with Lab/terrier mix and that may be as close as you get - whatever you do don't pay for one of those DNA tests to guess your breed they are a rip off.
