Cross Breeds

website that shows what mixed breeds look like?

is there a website that shows what the combination of 2 breeds would look like? I think I know what this puppy is but I can't find any similar looking dogs on any internet image searches. It's a fairly common mixed breed I think... possibly choc. lab/pitbull?

  1. Yeah, it's called Google. http://www.google.com.au/images?rlz=1T4GGLG_enAU315AU300&q=pitbull+x+lab&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=i1IFTdDnMISnrAfVpYiRDw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=2&ved=0CCsQsAQwAQ&biw=1259&bih=786
  2. Even if you found one, it would not help you at all as mixes can be different as day and night - even in the same litter. The puppies can take after one or the other parent or some of both. So you won't find a "similar" looking dog in a mutt. I'm assuming you'd like to know what your mix will end up looking at full grown.
  3. There COULD be. but the likely hood of your mixed breed looking EXACTLY like the example dog on the site is slim. A mixed breed dog could have any combination of features of the two breeds or could look just like one of its parents. There is Absolutely no breed standard for mixed breed dogs. Sorry.
  4. Just google search whatever mix you think he is, and look at all the pictures. Every mixed breed looks different though, even in one litter of, for example, Lab/Pit mixes, each puppy will look a little different. So you may never find an image that exactly matches your pup. http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=lab%20pit%20mix%20brown&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1280&bih=709
  5. Yes, it can be hard to know what a hybrid dog may come out to look like, but here is a website that shows some of the more popular mix breeds: http://dogbreedinfo.com/hybridmain.htm The Lab/Pit mixes are here: http://dogbreedinfo.com/l/labrabull.htm Also, if you want to know for sure, there is a service that can test your dog's DNA and tell you exactly what breeds it came from. That website is: http://www.dog-dna.com/
  6. just googled hybrid dog breeds or mixed dog breeds

  8. no there's no way to predict exactly what a particular mix will look like. Mixes dont conform in any way, and they dont take on any particular traits.. even 2 pups from the same litter can look completely different. If you were to find pics of lab/pit mixes you'd see they all look different.
