Can dogs know that they are same Dog Breeds when they saw same dog breeds?
Like when Dalmatian met Dalmatian, can they know they are same breeds?

- NO! Can't care either!
- I think my Doberman knows. He acts completely a fool when hes around another doberman but when he meets another breed of dog he just acts normal.
- I believe some dogs know. I agree with the Doberman comment - my Doberman seems to pick out the Dobes in a dog crowd and gravitate towards them more than the other dogs. He also tolerates the males a lot more than he would with other breeds of males.
- I mentioned this the other day ........ as my current Basset, unlike all those I bred myself, has only ever lived, from just under 4 months, with my Whippet, I'm certain he thinks he looks like a Whippet. And on the other hand, going by how she reacts when we meet other Whippets (she doesn't!), I'm sure she thinks she looks like him, a Basset!! She came to us at 9 weeks, and lived with my elderly Basset, before the lad I have now. When we had our 'pack', they always reacted strongly when we met up with other Bassets but mostly ignored any other strange dogs.
- My Border Collies are very different when they meet a Border Collie compared to any other breed. They are also much more tolerant of Border Collies they meet. I know my dogs can identify their breed when they meet them.
- I believe so. My dog will flock to any other black lab. More so the black ones than the other colors, though he will hang around a chocolate too. The more time I spend around dogs the more I believe it. I see more of a hanging around same breeds or even similar breeds.
- i think so because two pugs i walk are very dog aggressive but not with other pugs at all ...
