  1. when they are about 5 weeks they will stop...or should stop.
  2. 6 or 5 weeks
  3. Around three weeks they usually begin to show an interest in kibble. Have some smaller puppy kibble available, if you're not already feeding the mother puppy kibble for the extra protien while she is nursing, so that they can sample it as they learn to eat real foods. The puppies will probably be ready to be weaned by about 6 weeks - the mother will more than likely start pushing them away as they begin nipping harder with their teeth and are eating more and more solid foods.
  4. You should start weening your puppies onto wet solids when their eyes open. buy dog sausage (in the fridge at a supermarket. GOOD brand! (not sure where you are so can't give exact names) and mush a slice or 2 up with a fork and mix in an egg and a dollop of milk. put a smudge in puppies mouth and see how they go! it will take a couple of weeks to get into it :) once they are happy to eat that by themselves try a puppy kibble (purina, pedigree/advance, etc) ATM with our litter of puppies we are using a purina side brand that is dry but you can add a bit of warm water to it and it gets a gravy... the puppies LOVE It! the puppies should still be on mum a LOT though... they should be fully weened off at about 10 weeks though (normally 7-8 weeks to rehome puppies) but any you keep will keep on latching on to mum :)
  5. I start weaning puppies about 3 weeks. I buy a good quality puppy kibble, put it in a food processor with some warm water and grind it into a mush. Put a pie tin full of it down and place puppies around it. Dip your finger into the food and place it in the puppies mouth and they will go after it.
