- Hello there I cannot answer your questions directly but I think This is helpful to your daughter: http://quazen.com/recreation/food/five-foods-your-cat-shouldnt-eat/
- No they are very different cats. Bengals are very active, high energy cats and need more high quality diet then a normal cat. they should be on top quality canned food, some dry and raw beef/chicken. Bengals are not the cat you want if you are looking for a nice lap cat.
- we have one and I would agree that bengals are high energy cats. He Always wants to play. He is not a real lap cat although he is affectionate when he wants to be. Ours tends to be easily startled and some what nervous. I would not think it would be the best choice for a young child. He does get along great with our 12 year old son who really like to play with it and is let concerned with wanting allot of cuddle time. We love him - he has personality to spare and always makes me smile but he is very different from my other cat
- Bengals are pretty much in a class of their own temperamentally! They are much more "full on" than most other cats - very high energy, very strong musculature, very curious, very daring and clownish, they tend to bond to their owner very strongly and demand to be involved in "helping" with all daily activities. If bored they can be very destructive. They are quite vocal usually. If you already have a cat then a Bengal can be too much for them to cope with! Bengals usually like water and may demand to come in the shower or bath with you! They need a lot of 'human time' - and will get grumpy and destructive if you are too busy to play with them (and they looove to play)! They are not lap cats in the usual sense - but will come and cuddle when they want one (fairly often). Mine sleep on the bed with me every night. Bengals are fairly expense to purchase, and also a little more expense to feed too, as you must use good quality food - they are prone to Irritable Bowl Syndrome so care with food quality and avoiding sudden changes in diet is required. If this sounds like what your daughter would like, the be sure to visit some breeders in your area to get hands on with the cats (they feel amazing - very soft pelt), and also to ensure that the breeder has socialized them properly - very important in a Bengal, as some can be a bit rough with humans if not accustomed to a lot of handling from an early age.
