Are Bombay Cats and Bengal Cats banned in New York State?

I want a cat and I was wondering if those cats are banned from NY. I wanted a F1 Savannah Cat(Favorite Cat) but I know they are banned. So I just wanted to know if a Bengal or a Bombay(favorite type of cat) was banned from New York State and New York City?

  1. No, bengals and bombays are not banned in New York. Savannahs are illegal largely since they are so closely linked to the serval, so people are afraid of it becoming an invasive species. Bengals, which are also bred from wild cats, are already an established and nationally recognized breed, unlike the savannah, which is only recognized as a breed by TICA. Bombays, on the other hand, are not bred from wild cats but are domestic cats related to the Burmese.
  2. Purebred Bombays are 100% domestic cats - Burmese and black American SH was used to create them. As long as the Bengal is a F5 or higher you can have them.
