The best and worst breeders of your breed?
Excluding yourself if you are a breeder of course, but who do you think is the absolute best breeder for your breed? The worst? My choice for best is Snow Lion. They work their dogs, show them, do all the health testing, and regularly compete in the Iditarod with their Alaskan Huskies and sometimes Malamutes. Worst? Any of them who produce "Giant Malamutes. Their like the "bully hippo" version of Malamutes.

- Besides my breeder I would put at the top of my list Milas Collies http://www.milascollies.com/meet_our_collies.htm I can not think of a worst breeder. There are definitely breeders whos style of dog I don't care for but that is personal taste.
- I believe if they are breeding genetic and temperament sound puppies that are up to the standard, doing conformation with them , and if they are using them for what they were originally bred to do(unless it is against the law, of course! and if they are breeding dogs like dalmations that would be kinda hard!), I mean if they breed for instance Australian Shepherd or Pembroke Welsh Corgis then they are herding with them, if they are breeding Labrador Retrievers then they are taking them hunting or compete in something similar. The dogs have all the health testing done, best blood lines, etc. And if they are competing in agility, tracking, herding, disc, fly ball, just any dog sport that is also a plus. I believe a dog should be able to do its original job and that could be able to compete in conformation and win titles, is usually a well bred dog. Bad breeders...anyone breeding for money.
- I really like Paceaway Dalmatians. All their dogs are gorgeous and have imported some to Asia and Finland (I think) where they are competing very successfully. Worst? That's easy: http://www.miniaturedalmatians.com
- In Gordon Setters, the kennel I got my boy Nick from does everything right: http://www.gordons.stonemist.com/GarrettMistyLitter.html Macalder has sadly stopped breeding, but they were TOPS: http://www.macaldergordonsetters.com/ The worst? I have my own opinion on this of course. But Springset is strictly a field kennel, they do not adhere to the breed standard, often end up with mis-marked puppies, breed, breed, breed (recently bred their 500th litter, and the same issue of the GSCA newsletter had one of their dogs in rescue and they refused to take it back.) They may produce top quality hunting dogs, but I do not approve of their methods. http://www.springset.com/
