how many puppies maltese have at one time?
Is it possible for a yorkie maltese terrier to have only one puppy. Or can their labor be delayed for days?

- Yorkshire Terriers and Maltese are two separate breeds. Yay for mongrel breeding! -_-" Yes, any dog can have only one pup. Their labor shouldn't be delayed for days once they go in labor. Once they start pushing, a pup must be out in no more than an hour, or the pup might be stuck and needs to be taken to the Vet asap. If your mutt is pregnant, take her to the Vet and get X-Rays to see how many she is expecting. They should be pregnant for 58-65 Days. Dogs can only have one pup at a time, there are very rare cases of dogs having true identical twins that come in the same birth-sac, but that is rare and often doesn't turn out so pretty.
- Yes, small breeds often have just one puppy. Average sized litter is 3-4. Whelping takes place typically 63 days after breeding, but anywhere from 57-65 days is considered normal. Once the dog is in active labor, it should take no longer than 24 hours to have all the pups. The only way to be sure is to take her to a vet for an x-ray to see if there are any more puppies inside...definitely a good idea if you suspect so before she gets very sick.
- you will have to wat and see Good Luck
- my aunt has a pair of maltese and has gave birth twice. 4 puppies each time.
- wth is a yorkie maltese terrier? A responsible breeder would know how many pups to expect because they would have had an xray at day 52 to count skeletons. If they had fewer than expected they would have had their bit** in for an xray two hours after the last pup was born to see if there are any left. But then again, a responsible breeder would not breed mutts...
