Cross Breeds

i've got a red male toy poodle that cries like an ultrasonic baby... weird or normal?

i have a two months old toy poodle. it is an indoor puppy, which stays indoors most of the time. he walks around looking so adorable, and quietly sleeps in a corner when tired sometimes. always, i will put him in his bed to sleep, but when i thought he's asleep, he would start crying like a little baby when i walk away from his bed. he barks very seldom, but cries every time he's in bed. why? is it normal for a 2 mth old toy poodle to behave this way? and not whining like a puppy or dog, but like crying like a baby. really crying. i know it sounds cute, but do you think he's okay? i mean crying like a baby... can anyone help? it's not about earning points to enjoy, but the feeling of helping others who are in need and asking a question for help... you will only truly enjoy when you help others and know that they are not as worried anymore, and when their problems is somewhat solved, right? so...please, help me.

  1. The dog is very young, so I'd wait a bit before really worrying. You might want to put a call in to your vet to put your mind at ease. Different dogs express themselves in different ways, even in the same breed. This may well be a normal expression of your dog, probably something to do with separation. My bet is he will outgrow it, hopefully soon. You might try some sound - music or other - a blanket or something with your scent on it, or maybe something warm, like a towel from the dryer. That might help him get used to it.
  2. I know a couple of dogs that do this, they are fine. I wouldnt worry about it. But if it really bothers you, call a vet. I think your dog is fine.
