How to find information on this thoroughbred mare my grandpa owned?

Back before i was born (i'm 21) my mother, uncle, and late grandparents owned and bred quarter horses and thoroughbreds. Me and mom were going through some old family pictures and found some pictures of their horses to. She told me Slippery Rock was owned by my grandpa. Whether she ever raced or not, i don't know, as i can't find any information about her. I'm just curious. Thanks! I know the horse wouldn't be alive now but like i said i was just curious Thnx i had never heard of that site and will give it a try
