What is a good flea medication for dogs/cats?
ok needless to say we have tried the Hartz brand for my cat and it just seems like her fleas have gotten worse, so NO to that brand lol. me and my husband though are looking for a good brand of flea medication for our 3 dogs and cat. i have heard of the pills n one friend of ours said the brand works well (cant remember the name of it). but what are some good brands that you recommend, also a flea spray for the yard n house??

- I use Frontline Plus for both & have for years. It's safe & effective.
- Yeah, don't use Hartz Flea Products, or any of their products to be honest. :-s Lots of dogs and cats have had bad reactions to and some even died from it. o.o Frontline is good and works for both Cats and Dogs(as long as you get the one thats meant for each one of course). I don't use any pills on my dog so I dunno what that one is. I'm not sure about flea sprays either, would it be possible for it to harm your pets? Advantix is another, I've never used that but I know they have it for dogs, not sure about cats.
- Wasn't fleas that big Judge figure?
- Frontline is a great topical. If you are looking for a pill Comfortis is great.
- OTC stuff don't work Go to your vet and get Frontline Plus for dogs, and Frontline Plus for cats. That's the best. It is a little pricey. but in the long run, it is the cheapest way out. If you heed this, you will be learning from my very costly learning experience with this problem! Papaw
- I use Frontline for my dog. It's really good against lice and ticks, too. Before i used it for the first time he managed to get tonnes of ticks and fleas but now he doesn't have ANY. It's your best bet if you ask me. Frontline also makes sure the fleas don't multiply so if you use it for a while the fleas around your house will die and you'll have no problem with them. It's good against fleas for 3 months and against ticks for 1 month. It's in a pipette like thing and you squeeze the contents of it onto the dog's or cat's neck. After you use it on the pet's neck you have to make sure they don't get too wet for the next 3 days or so so it doesn't wash away. hope this helped!
- Advantix- kills fleas, ticks and I believe mosquitoes. It costs more because it works and I think you would rather pay for it now than later. Zodiac has a good spray for the house. Also, you can remove flea eggs from your carpet with a vacuum and regular baking soda. If you have a really bad infestation problem, you may consider a flea bomb.
- Why not get appropriate meds from your vet, and have a professional exterminator come out and spray your yard and home?
