why are there no dog shows for mixed breeds?
it seems unfair that mixed breeds are just as beautiful, just as important to their owneres as pure breeds are and just as (if not more) talented than pure breeds. so why is there no dog show for mixed breeds?

- Because there is no standard to judge them by!! They all look different. That's why. A lot of local kennel clubs have activities for mixed dogs, like rally-o, fly ball, agility, and obedience. Mixed breeds can't compete in conformation. That's all they are restricted from doing.
- 1. They all look different. 2. Because most mix-breeds aren't actually official "breeds". For example, Golden Doodles, they are "muts" but a lot of people own and love them.
- Because there are so many combinations, there is no standard to judge by, and there would be SOOOO many dogs, it would be hard to pick dogs for the show! It would be fun, but very hard to put together.
- Because show dogs are purpose bred for specific qualities which is what they're judged by, mutts are not. Besides, why would you want to show your mutt?
- no confirmation for mixed breeds. but they have local shows for all dogs, just have to look
- I understand that you wouldn't be able to judge them on the same standards that you judge a pure breed competition but i think it would be much cooler to see a mixed breed show. Who wants to watch a bunch purebred dogs (which are equivalent to preppy, spoiled, rich, white collar, brats) when you can watch and see who wins the best in show between Rusty, Spike, One Eye, and Stinky.
- Many of us have wondered for years why mixed breeds could not compete in training-based trials like obedience, rally, free style and agility - now they can. Conformity (i.e. the "beauty" portion) is for judging purebred breeding stock (intact animals) against the breed standard. In the case of mixed breeds there is nothing to judge them against - it would be strictly personal likes/dislikes. Nor do I believe that mixed breeds should purposely be bred no matter how beautiful they are to the owner - there is no way to predict what the outcome will be. That is not to say that mixed breeds are not beautiful dogs - I've owned and own a mix breed too. They are very special dogs, but dog shows are NOT just a beauty contest. Personally, I would enjoy a Pet Parade open to all (kind of like the Rescue parades you see at specialties where we can show off our rescue dogs of that breed) where owners could just show off their beautiful pets because I agree registration does not make the pet and every owner has a right to be proud of their beloved pet.
- There are! Obedience, agility, rally........... Some of the top agility dogs are mixed breeds. And you are right, mixes can be just as beautiful, just as talented and just as important to their owners. Now....conformation shows.......no "real" shows for them. Because in conformation each breed has their own "standard" to which that breed must adhere. And, as mixed breeds are mixes, and very unique, there is no "standard" that would describe them all.
