Are part Maine- coon cats hard to care for?

The 2 kittens i am getting are part Maine-Coon. They have a medium hair length. but I just wanted to know if they were very high maintenance cats.

2. i adopted my first maine coon around christmas time 2009, he's part maine & part short hair (i assume, because he was a stray, but i can't find any characteristics that aren't MC). he's definitely NOT hard to care for. :) He does always beg to to go outside and meows when we're by the downstairs door, but that could just be him. he's easy to feed, not picky. he loves every toy i get for him. he gets along amazingly with my other pets, though he does try to play with my poor fishy and stalks my rats in their cage. all in all, i would HIGHLY recommend maine coons for someone who's looking for a best friend and NOT a cuddle bug, which most Maine's aren't. if yer looking for a cat to sit and stroke, this may not be your cat. make sure you do the research on the breed before you get your heart set...
