- Goldengate bridge and a picture of leavensworth prison.
- Schools, classrooms, playgrounds, shopping centers, fast food restaurants, recreational places, sporting events, summer activities, ice cream trucks, snowcone stands, traffic jams, highways, bridges, etc. Anything! EDIT: postcards from your area would also be nice. You don't have to have personal photos of everything of interest. You can also leave the postcards as a gift.
- You sound like a nice person enjoying a good quality life. It sounds like you have a great home, loving family, good friends, fine school, and safe neighborhood. Any and all of these topics will be interesting and reassuring to your host family. Do not take pictures of anything that might disturb your host family. Avoid photos of America's violent crime, drug abuse, urban decay, unemployment, dangerous religious cults, and angry voters. Keep those aspects of American life secret. We do not want foreigners to know how weak and hopeless we really are, especially don't let the Chinese know.
- You must not take pictures of Tibetans in the USA. Because FREE TIBET is not allowed in China. You must not take pictures of Facebook, Youtube, mySpace, Twitter because these websites are banned in China by The Chinese Communist Party. You must take pictures of USA military secrets because The Chinese Communist Party very eagerly want to take USA military secrets so you can assist The Party to advance weaponry and steal USA military secret. You must not take pictures of very beautiful nature scenery in USA because in China The Chinese Communist Party has want to pollution in China so when Chinese people see clean air in USA the Chinese people will want to move away to USA, and the Chinese Communist Party will not be happy. You must not also take pictures of family with more than one child. Because in China under The Chinese Communist Party there is One Child Policy, only one child is allowed per family. If you show pictures of family with more than one child it is make the Chinese families very sad and will become mad at The Chinese Communist Party and that will not be good for The Party.
- Craftylass offers some great suggestions! I'll add: natural beauties, fishing in a river, camping/hiking trips, beaches, people flocking to churches, community-based projects/activities, graduation ceremonies, people laughing/smiling/hugging each other. Do not take pictures of grumpy persons who lie about being an American, such as BSherman.
- Depending on where you live, you can take pictures of any significant "landmark" that you may have there (e.g. Statue of Liberty, etc) or the usual hangouts you go to, maybe what your school looks like, the library, canteen, the different foods in your canteen or cafe. Video clips would be better though, even short clips just so they may also hear the things going on there, makes it much more realistic.
- Craftylass has a good list of ideas. BS- hahaha, it's quite obvious what you should avoid taking photos of.
