- The human population use more animals for certain needs than other animals. Also with the environment changes thats effecting those animals. Also over 200 million animals are killed because of hunting. The causes for over population are Biology, Commercial breeding, Lost and abandoned animals, and Social attitudes. White- tailed deer, cats, and dogs are examples of over populated animals.
- The main causes of extinction and endangerment of species are habitat loss, introduction of new species, and hunting by humans. Habitat loss is probably the most serious. As the wild areas such as the Amazon are destroyed, the plants and animals that lived there are unable to survive in the farms and cities that replace them. The introduction of new species is a particular problem on islands. For example, on Guam, several bird species have been made extinct by snakes that were brought to the island accidentally by ships. Some animals have increased their population recently. This is because humans have killed off their competitors and made attractive environments for them. For example we have removed wolves from the eastern U.S., allowing coyotes to move in. The removal of wolves has also benefit ted deer. Deer like living in areas with a mix of forests and open grassy areas, in other words, the suburbs.
