When will Bengal cats and Savannah cats be legal in Iowa?

I know there is a bill going through the system to legalize Bengal and Savannah cats so now its just a matter of time but could someone please tell me When?

  1. Bengals are legal in Iowa - I know many Bengal breeders who go to cat shows in Iowa. Can you send me something that proves otherwise?
  2. Since Iowa has breeders that sell Bengals I would assume they are in fact legal. However, below is a link to a page for march 2009 when Bengals and Savannahs were not legal. "It is important to check the legality of owning a Savannah cat where you live. Most states in the US regard the Savannah cat as a domestic cat in following federal and United States Department of Agriculture advice. New York State doesn't, although 5 generations from the wild Serval are allowed in NY State but not NY city. Other states restrict ownership of hybrid cats (Alaska, Iowa, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and Georgia). "http://www.pictures-of-cats.org/savannah-cat.html I would suggest making phone calls in regard to whether bengal or savannahs are legal in Iowa. This would be a far more reliable source of info than yahoo answers. Ph: 202-452-1100 This is the humane Society number they should know. Or you could go to the library and ask for assistance. Good luck.
