How can I get involved in saving endangered animals?
As a sort of volunteer, im not going to school to be a zoologist. Im going to culinary school, its my dream, but helping endangered animals is another dream of mine. And im willing to do what it takes to help.

- You could always give money to those who are already involved. Someone is physically involved.
- Don't bother - they're all doomed! 99.9% of species that have ever lived are extinct, most are around for an average of 13 million years - a drop in the ocean compared to the age of the earth - 4.5 billion years! I studied conservation at uni and had naive dreams of "making a difference" but honestly, now I think it's a waste of time. I wish I didn't, but I do. If that hasn't changed your mind, you can always go into recruiting members on the street or become a member of charities (you'll receive newsletters and emails telling you how you can get involved).
- Become members of various organizations, you can give small donations when you join, and you receive interesting news and information, sometimes with opportunities to do things. Like: Fauna and flora international (I am a member) WWF Panthera (If you like felines, amazing organization, really amazing, also a member) World land trust Do some research, there are loads! Choose ones that aim to protect LAND rather than ones aimed to save just an animal, the success rate is higher then. Example: You have an area of land with 100 tigers, but people are aloud on the land to remove trees, and possibly poach the cats... so habitat loss and poaching are a threat. Yeah the tigers are protected, but that means nothing to poachers. But, protect the land, so access is impossible, deforestation is well and truly banned, and there fore, that small number of tigers are safe, with their habitat. Fauna and flora are amazing for that. Recently saved an area in the amazon, and jaguars are thriving there. You could look around your area for places that allow volunteers, sanctuary's and rescues. If they do not allow hands on, they usually allow people to help with events and awareness. And do your bit for the environment! To be honest there is not much you can do without studying, but keep looking, keep asking, and something will pop up.
