How many cats do you think a person can have before people start to question their mental health?
I think if you have up to 5-6 cats and you live in a large house, that's ok. I think it's ok to have even 10 cats, if they are mostly outside cats and you live in a rural area. But what about 10 cats in a small apartment? Or 20 cats? Or 100 cats?

- 1 Cats are evil
- My equation would be: (number of people living in house * area of house) / (number of cats) - the lower the number, the more crazy the person is.
- Any cats at all in a human's living space is cause to at least start to question. More cats than one person can carry in a duffel bag and it's not a question anymore.
- Doesn't matter how many cats they have.....If they have conversations with them, i'd say they're a sandwich short of a picnic.
- You really make me laugh sometimes. I have four and I think mine's questionable. I live in a small house. I once knew a woman with about 20 cats, but she was an old woman and they were her life - she took good care of them. They were lucky cats. edit - Boo, you can't have a pet if you never talk to them and let them answer, come on!
- It really depends on the kind of cat. I know of two people in Miami who own only one cat but whose sanity I seriously question: one owns a liger (lion/tiger cross) and the other a cheetah.
- Are...you....feline crazy?
- People used to make fun of an elderly deaf woman who lived in a house nearby my family home. Children would make faces at her, she would run out with a broom after them and chase them. She had many cats and adopted all strays that people abandoned, they were her family I think, long after her relatives had passed away.
