why are people selling cross bred dogs for so much?

seriously like 600 dollars for a rottie cross mastiff, and great danes cross shepherds, its rediculous!!! i remember getting my cross bred dogs for free-(about 10 yrs ago)

1. Because people will do anything for a quick buck these days, and because the people who buy them are illeducated fools.
2. Because they are considered hybrid breeds now so they are more interesting. I know it is redicilous because you arent even getting a pure bred dog. It doesnt matter to me but if I am getting a mutt Im not spending 600 dollars on it.
3. When you find out please let me know. They are not hybrids they are mutts. Hybrids are when two different species get together and make a new breed. Such a when a wold and a dog mate and have a litter, now that is a hybrid. But when two different breeds of dog mate and have a litter they are mutts. Most pups from those matings are worth no more then $50.00 cost of worming and first shots.

6. if you are looking for a x breed id go to an animal shelter im sure you wouldnt pay that much there and i too cant understand why guess its a general shortage of money and jobs

9. I totally agree on that! I think people actually try to make a cross breed dog sound so unique. I personally have shepherd but my intention is to breed high quaility dogs for police training and tracking and rescue. On the other hand i have had what people call mutts and honestly if your happy with your pooch who cares what breed it is but people that try to sell them for so much money are ridiculous!! Why do people pay that is the question? If people would go to rescue sights or local human societys they would get a great cross breed dog if their only intention is to have a family dog.
